Tallow jena

Questions

What is Tallow?

Tallow is rendered fat from the suet of animals like cows or sheep. It was commonly used before seed/grain oil was introduced by the commercial food industry. Beef tallow and other animal fats contain all of the essential fat-soluble nutrients that your body needs. It is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K and omega-3 fatty acids that can only be found in animal oils. Saturated animal fat is important for hormone production and the health of your skin and hair. Beef tallow has excellent benefits for your skin health and has become a popular addition to beauty and skin products.

What is the Tallow Jena difference?

TallowJena uses the highest quality ingredients to ensure high quality tallow balms.

Our tallow is from grass-fed/finished cattle that are pasture raised locally without any added hormones or antibiotics. They are raised in open, spacious pastures where they are free to roam and graze in a stress-free environment.

The kidney fat is rendered using the wet method to prevent burning, which is key in preventing any lingering beef smell in the finished tallow. After the initial rendering, tallow goes through multiple purifying processes.

It is then blended with the unrefined/cold pressed organic virgin coconut oil and organic essential oils. Tallow Jena balm is made light and fluffy for smooth texture and easier absorption by your skin.

Why use Tallow?

Tallow was commonly used in our daily life before seed/grain oil was introduced by the commercial food industry. Now, as people are becoming aware of the negative effects of the synthetic chemicals, we find ourselves turning back to the nature created for us by God.

We shouldn’t put things on our skin that we wouldn’t put in our mouth. Our skin is a porous membrane that absorbs substances easily, and applying chemicals or heavy metals to it can be harmful.

Grass fed/finished beef tallow is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K and omega-3 fatty acids that can only be found in animal oils. These fat-soluble vitamins are naturally antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory. Grass fed/finished beef tallow is easily absorbed because it contains fatty acid in a similar proportion to our skin.

A tiny chunk of tallow in the jar?

We try to do our best to produce the best and consistent quality products without any synthetic ingredients. Therefore, however, sometimes you may notice imperfections like a little chunk of the tallow or slightly gritty that is not completely whipped. It is totally fine to use it and it will melt quickly as soon as you start rubbing onto your skin. Please contact us if you are not happy with the product.
